A while ago, I heard about this book series about vampires. And then as usually seems to be the case, I heard about the series again, then again from various people who had nothing to do with each other. Then I was in the Las Vegas airport over the summer and saw the books displayed. There were 4 in the series. I now realize that I was way behind in learning about these books but better late then never.

A few weeks ago, I started reading about the movie that was being made out of the first book and the people who were starring in it. So I put my name on the waiting list at the library for the first book. Its called Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Duh. I was surprised to find out that it was classified as a Young Adult book. I know I’m not a Young Adult. You don’t have to remind me. My 43rd birthday is coming up way too quickly. I got called three weeks ago, on a weekend that I didn’t have the kids. I read the whole book that weekend. It was a fun read and definitely kept my attention with all the sexual tension between the two main characters who are high school students. I never felt that way in high school.

I reserved the next two books at the library and got them in time to take on my cruise last week. Perfect reading for a cruise. Now, I’m on the wait list for the final book. Hope I get it soon. In time for Thanksgiving. It will give me something pleasurable to do while the rest of my family is discussing politics and iPhones. Maybe I’ll even be able to sneak away and see the movie.
