I wasn’t going to do a year-end post. But I was lying in bed last night, not sleeping, thinking of some of the things I did in 2012.
And what kept coming in to my head was how much I traveled this year.
Man, did I travel. And I loved it.
With kids. Without kids. With my husband. And without him.
I took a few trips to Las Vegas, my home away from home. Including one where I almost killed my husband. (Glad that I didn’t.)
A couple of cruises.
A week-long adventure in Israel with most of my family, in celebration of my niece’s and nephew’s B’nai Mitzvah.
A mother-daughter trip to New York.

Some time in Southern California.
A week at the beach in North Carolina.
A camp reunion in the Georgia mountains.
A 24 hour trip to Key West.
A cousin’s beautiful wedding in Atlanta.
And, just this past weekend, a quick trip to Miami to see family and visit the new butterfly exhibit at Fairchild Tropical Gardens.
And like that, the year is almost over.
Thankfully, I don’t have many regrets about the last 364 days.
And I’m looking forward to a New Year.
I’m up for the challenges: work, teenagers, relationships.
At least that’s what I keep telling myself.
And I hope I get to travel as much as I did this year.
So, Happy New Year everyone. I wish you all a happy and healthy 2013.
P.S. Hope you’ll be here when I launch my redesigned site. Look for it in mid-January. All the same Dewlaps you’ve been following plus a load of new features.
